Neymar announced his retirement from international football with the Brazilian national team following their Round of 16 exit at the 2026 FIFA World Cup. After Brazil's 2-1 loss to Norway at MetLife Stadium in East Rutherford, New Jersey, the 34-year-old forward emotionalized, "It is now over."
赛后接受采访时，内马尔难掩失落：“我努力过，真的拼尽全力了，如今一切到此为止。我从这里启程，也在这里落幕。”

他口中的“这里”，正是纽约大都会人寿体育场。2010年，巴西队对阵美国队的友谊赛上，内马尔在此完成国家队首秀，此番离别之地恰好与出道球场重合。
"I tried, I tried ... Now it's over! I started here, I finished here," Neymar said, referring to the stadium in New Jersey, where he made his Brazil debut in a friendly against the United States in 2010.
34岁的内马尔就此结束国家队征程，累计代表巴西出战130场，打入80球，稳居巴西队史射手王。
If Neymar confirms his international retirement, he will end his Brazil career with 80 goals and 58 assists in 130 appearances.
在本届世界杯中，内马尔因小腿伤势缺席前两场小组赛，后在小组赛巴西对阵苏格兰的比赛中替补出场。
