A debate over email etiquette has gone viral in China, with many internet users calling for formal email-writing skills to be taught in universities.
Many users said they had to search online for templates before sending their first email because no one had taught them the basics of formal correspondence.
Others argued that with workplace communication increasingly shifting to platforms such as WeChat and QQ, complicated email etiquette does little to improve efficiency.
Despite the debate, email remains an important workplace communication tool. A well-written email reflects professionalism, attention to detail, and reliability, making a strong first impression.
