8月2日上午，日本熊本县灾害对策总部通报称，包括仍在进行关联性调查的死者在内，该县7月28日发生的强震已致38人死亡。

The death toll from the powerful earthquake that struck Kumamoto Prefecture has risen to 38, local authorities said Sunday.

据青蜂侠消息，日本熊本县遭受地震后，网络上再次出现呼吁向灾区赠送千纸鹤的声音。

有日本网站发起话题称：“熊本地震，大家一起做点什么吧！一万个千纸鹤会带来勇气！与其做不行动的伪善，不如行动起来！”

According to media reports, some Japanese websites encouraged people to send paper cranes to cheer up survivors.

不过，类似倡议也引发了争议，不少日本网友呼吁不要向灾区寄送千纸鹤，认为其会占用物流资源、增加灾区负担，建议通过正规渠道捐款，并在灾后前往熊本旅游消费或购买当地产品，帮助灾区恢复。

The proposal, however, quickly drew criticism. Many Japanese internet users said paper cranes would occupy valuable logistics resources and place an extra burden on disaster-hit areas. They urged people to donate through official channels or support Kumamoto's recovery by purchasing local products or visiting the region after the disaster.

网友呼吁：“请大家不要把千纸鹤寄到熊本去！”

然而，这并非日本民众送千纸鹤救灾的行为首次引发争议。

2024年，日本发生严重地震海啸，造成多人死伤。日本一记者发文称，不少日本民众花钱购买千纸鹤后，占用宝贵的运输资源，把对救灾毫无用处的手工艺品送往灾区。“花同样的钱，占用同样的重量，我们明明可以捐赠茶包和食物。”

The debate echoes a similar controversy following Japan's 2024 earthquake and tsunami, when a Japanese journalist argued that transport capacity should be reserved for urgently needed relief supplies rather than symbolic gifts such as paper cranes.

据悉，在日本文化中向他人赠送千纸鹤有祝福、慰问之意。该记者的发文引发许多日本网民共鸣，有人称“以后应该立法禁止向灾区寄送千纸鹤”。

据环球时报报道，尽管有媒体呼吁民众停止送千纸鹤，但在堆放救灾物资的仓库中，这些千纸鹤仍然堆积如山，场面“震撼”。

In Japanese culture, paper cranes symbolize blessings and encouragement. Despite repeated public appeals against sending them, local media previously reported that large numbers of paper cranes still ended up in relief warehouses.
