A team of students from Guizhou Normal University has developed "Caogen Xiangshang"(Grassroots Rising), a smart platform designed to help rural schools teach football. Many rural primary schools in Guizhou lack standard pitches, so children play on concrete or basketball courts. Professional coaches are also scarce, with one PE teacher often supervising dozens of students.
The platform uses affordable wearables and cameras to record children's juggling counts, heart rate, and movement data, generating training reports for teachers. After repeated failures and field tests, the team raised data capture to around 75%. More than ten schools have expressed interest. The team hopes the platform can generate a "talent profile" for each child and help rural kids reach higher levels.
