评比形式：朗读高手（约90秒）+ 即兴问答（约90秒）
相关说明：选手从现场抽取一篇短文/片段进行朗读（各组别短文会提前公布），要求发音清晰准确，语调自然，通过流利有感情地朗读，使所读内容的内涵得到更好的体现。考查重点为语音、语调、理解能力、精神风貌。评委根据朗读情况即兴对朗读内容以及相关话题进行提问，选手应充分理解朗读内容，自信主动地与评委进行沟通。准备时间约180秒。

A little later a voice said, “Hello, Elmer. Where are you going?” It was Lion.“Baby Elephant has lost his teddy and I’m looking for it,” said Elmer.
“Oh dear,” said Lion. “Baby Lion would be very upset if he lost his teddy. If I find it, I’ll call you. Maybe Tiger has seen it.” As he came near Tiger’s place, Elmer called out, “Yoho! Tiger!” “Ssssh! Elmer,” Tiger quietly called back. “The twins are asleep.” “Sorry,” said Elmer. “Only, Baby Elephant has lost his teddy. Have you seen it?” “That’s serious,” said Tiger. “The twins wouldn’t sleep without their teddies. If I find it, I’ll call you.” After that, Elmer visited the other animals. All the young ones had their teddies, but none of them had seen Baby Elephant’s.
They all said the same thing, “If we find it, we’ll call you.”

Annie Alligator was worried. “On Friday, Mom is taking me to see the dentist,”thought Annie. “I’ve never been to the dentist before. What will Dr. Cobb do to my teeth?” Annie looked at her teeth in the mirror. Then she started to count them. She counted her top teeth. She counted her bottom teeth. There were dozens of teeth to count.
Annie worried and worried. “I have so many teeth,” she thought. “What if Dr. Cobb wants to take some of them out?”
The next day at school, Annie smiled at her friends. When they smiled back, she counted their teeth. She had more teeth than Becky Beaver.She had more teeth than Ray Rabbit. And she had a lot more teeth than Tara Turtle. “Don’t forget,” Mom said on Friday morning. “I will pick you up after school, so you can visit the dentist.” “Oh, no!” Annie said to herself.

I make a list of chores that will make me money. First, I feed the dog, but the bag is too big. Mom! I empty the dishwasher, but the dishes are too heavy. I clean my room. Mom pays me some money. I sell lemonade. I get more money. I save lots of money in my money jar. Dad says, “You need a savings account.” Dad takes me to the bank. We see the manager. Dad writes on some bank papers. I write my name.

their game is different. They don’t run—they play on unicycles! A unicycle is like a bike, but with one wheel, not two. It isn’t easy, but the players in the King Charles Troupe can bounce, throw, and catch a ball—all on their unicycles. They’re fantastic! A lot of people watch them play.

The baby grew. He grew and he grew and he grew. He grew until he was two years old, and he ran all around the house. He pulled all the books off the shelves. He pulled all the food out of the refrigerator. And he took his mother’s watch and flushed it down the toilet. Sometimes his mother would say, “This kid is driving me CRAZY!” But at night time, when that two-year-old was quiet, she opened the door to his room, crawled across the floor, looked up over the side of his bed.

He climbs trees in the garden, and he hunts for mice … and birds! Leo sometimes tries to catch Lily, but Lily always escapes. Leo can run fast, but Lily can fly. This makes Leo angry!
One day, Leo sees Lily in the garden. Leo wants to catch Lily. He creeps through the garden very slowly and quietly. But Lily sees Leo, and she flies away into the forest. Leo chases Lily. Lily flies and flies, and Leo runs and runs. Soon they are a long way from the garden, and they don’t know the way home. It’s dark in the forest. Leo and Lily are scared.
