At 14, Japanese soldiers took her into sexual slavery. They broke her toes. She never had children. Today, there are only six registered survivors of Japan's wartime "comfort women" system left on the Chinese mainland. In March this year, 16 independent United Nations human rights experts issued a joint statement calling for truth, justice and reparation for survivors of the so-called "comfort women" system established and controlled by Japan during World War II.
