Lin Jian: On the day marking Japan's unconditional surrender in World War II, Sanae Takaichi made a monetary offering to the Yasukuni war shrine. Certain senior officials and political figures such as Defense Minister Shinjiro Koizumi visited the shrine. It made Asian neighbors and the international community even more alarmed by what ' s Japan really up to.(英文来源:外交部发言人办公室)
(It is in fact a shrine for war criminals)”;而林剑此次明确使用“战犯神社”称谓,去掉了“事实上的”等前缀修饰词。
Japanese PM and ministers honourwar-criminalsatimperialist Yasukuni Shrine
The infamous Yasukuni Shrine commemorates thousands of war criminals who served in the brutal Imperial Japanese Army.
Japanese PM Sanae Takaichi has previously attended the war-crimes shrine. This year, however, Western media said she skipped, "did not visit", stayed away from, or "shuns" the shrine. But this is not accurate.

Takaichi, known regionally for her subservience to US imperial interests, sent an honorific gift, including flowers, to the shrine. She also visited the shrine but remained outside, reportedly across the street. She still bowed, in Japanese honorary custom, and reportedly clapped to honour the war-dead.
Apparently aiming to please nationalist elements in Japanese society while avoiding major international scandal, Takaichi both attended and "did not". Yet, quite clearly, her wishes were with the war criminals.
Revisionism of Axis powers' WWII crimes must not be excused for the sake of political convenience. Those who fail to renounce that history clearly can only reopen the doors to it.
