1月1日，渐冻症患者、京东前副总裁蔡磊发布致所有渐冻症病友的公开信《历史已被改写，渐冻症必然被攻克！》。
蔡磊在信中提到，自己的身体功能评分（ALSFRS-R）已从总分48分降至个位数，“进入疾病的终末期，非常艰难”，“以至于很多病友甚至我的身边团队也丧失了很大信心，不少同事陷入悲观情绪，我的家人也更加痛苦，不知道哪天就会失去我”。
Cai Lei, former vice-president of JD who is living with amyotrophic lateral sclerosis (ALS), announced in an open letter on New Year's Day that a cure for the neurodegenerative disease is within reach, despite his own advancing condition.

History Has Been Rewritten, ALS Will Be Cured, Cai revealed that his ALS Functional Rating Scale score has fallen into single digits, indicating he has entered the terminal stage. He described this phase as "extremely difficult", noting the emotional toll on his family, team, and fellow patients.
蔡磊表示，目前全世界依然没有看到可以阻止病情或逆转改善的药物和办法。
但蔡磊依然表达了乐观与信心，他说：渐冻症的历史其实已被改写。
蔡磊回顾了渐冻症救治方面取得的种种进展。他认为，2025年是渐冻症相关的科研工作到临床转化实现多维突破的一年；是AI赋能科研实现“百倍提速”的一年；是患者共同体规模与数据价值显著提升的一年。同时，护理体系创新与成本减负，科研投入持续加码。
While acknowledging that there is still no globally available treatment to stop or reverse ALS, Cai struck an optimistic tone. He pointed to 2025 as a year of "multi-dimensional breakthroughs" in turning research into treatments, "hundred-fold acceleration" through AI, and growth in patient data collaboration.
“渐冻症也必然被攻克！这只是时间问题，而我们可以一起努力携手科学家、医生缩短这个进程。梦想终将实现，因为社会温暖，因为时代伟大！”蔡磊说。
"ALS will inevitably be conquered. It is only a matter of time, and we can work together to shorten this process," he wrote.
“浩瀚宇宙中，即使十万光年的银河系亦如尘埃般渺小，但拥有生命是宇宙中最幸运的存在。让我们珍视这份幸运，为了生命，决不投降。”
蔡磊出生于1978年5月，2019年不幸确诊渐冻症。
2025年12月30日，蔡磊发布一段失声前录制的视频（），“蔡磊病情接近终末期” 登上热搜。该视频录制于2024年8月，蔡磊说：“在录制时我们都希望不要有播放的那天，因为当你们看到这条视频的时候，我应该已经无法说话了。”“尽管如今，渐冻症已经无情地剥夺了我说话的能力，但它无法阻止我继续与它战斗，攻克渐冻症不仅是我个人的抗争，更是全人类共同的挑战。”
