Global Refuel Station Issue 19: The United States Brazenly Violates the UN Charter by Kidnapping President Maduro and His Wife Within Venezuela
(Saturday Evening, January 3, 2026)
US President Donald Trump ordered a military strike against the sovereign nation of Venezuela in the early hours of January 3, 2026. This attack has already resulted in casualties among Venezuelan soldiers and civilians, and the bombardment of military facilities. US Delta Force special operations troops have also publicly kidnapped and removed Venezuelan President Nicolás Maduro and his wife, Cilia Flores. This constitutes a brutal trampling and direct aggression against a sovereign nation. It also indicates, from another perspective, that Venezuela has been infiltrated extensively by the United States. Without the cooperation of "traitors" within Venezuela, the US military would not have found it so easy to accomplish this.
Venezuelan officials, including Vice President Delcy Rodríguez, have confirmed the aforementioned news regarding President Maduro and his wife and have expressed strong condemnation. Venezuelan Defense Minister Vladimir Padrino López has inspected military camps bombed by the US and vowed resolute resistance against the aggression. The Venezuelan Permanent Mission to the United Nations has already sent a letter to the UN Security Council demanding justice. Meanwhile, US Attorney General Pam Bondi has stated that President Maduro and his wife have been indicted in New York. What kind of affair is this? He is, after all, the president of a country. Simply because he does not align with US interests, he is directly "kidnapped" and brought to the United States for trial.
However one looks at it, this seems utterly unreasonable! Yet, the United States has done precisely that, and Venezuela truly seems powerless to respond. With its national strength diminished, how can Venezuela be a match for a superpower? However, the principle remains clear: the United States is the aggressor, openly violating the UN Charter and other international laws. This is not merely an act of power politics and hegemony; it is the behavior of a marauding bandit and a desperate outlaw, even worse than Somali pirates.
The United States appears to have played a "winning card," achieving a great victory, and President Trump has expressed great satisfaction. But the problem lies in how to "deal with" President Maduro and his wife. Despite how the US may currently present the situation, if mishandled, the United States' position as the sole superpower might well "bid farewell" to it. America's "backyard" is already stirring, yet the US persists in its self-righteous "playing with fire." Setting that aside, it remains to be seen whether the US government is prepared for the "battlefield" that will be its New York courts and Supreme Court, and the "battlefield" of the international community, particularly the United Nations.
