Do you like to “eat out?” To “eat out” is a phrasal verb meaning that youeat dinner in a restaurant. Sometimes, restaurants give us too much food, sowe’ll “take the food away.” This is a phrasal verb meaning that we take therest of the food home with us.

Jay: Would you like to “eat out”tonight?

Jen: Not tonight, thanks. I “ateout” last night. There was so much food on my plate that I “took it away” andwill eat it for dinner tonight.

外出就餐

你喜欢外出就餐吗？“eat out”是一个动词短语，表示你在餐馆里就餐。有时候，餐馆提供的食物太多了，所以我们会“take the food away（打包）”。意思是我们把剩下的食物带回家。

杰伊：今天晚上你想下馆子吗？

詹：今天晚上就不了，谢谢！“我昨天晚上才出去吃过。”我盘子里的食物太多所以我打包带走了，今天晚餐会吃打包回来的食物。
