2002年12月，Stephen Gately在Bill Kenwright任导演版的歌剧《Joseph and the Amazing Technicolor Dreamcoat》内出演主角Joseph。并于2003年登上伦敦著名歌剧院West End的舞台。

从2004年的九月份到2005年的三月份，Stephen Gately在另一部经典歌剧《Chitty Chitty Bang Bang》担任Child Catcher一角。
