Located in Calgary, Canada, Hillhurst House was originally a 1970s bungalow. Now, under the careful design of Mera Studio Architects, it has been transformed into a living space full of modern and family warmth, especially featuring the clever use of curved elements, satisfying the young family's pursuit of a comfortable, open and creative living environment.

From the overall project point of view, when renovating this 1970s bungalow, it should be based on retaining its original architectural style and structure, and then making appropriate optimization and updates. The building facade may have been repaired to ensure its coordination with the surrounding environment, while improving the overall appearance of the building, so that it can integrate into the community environment while showing the breath of the new era.

从整体项目来看，在对这座 70 年代平房进行改造时，应是在保留其原有建筑风格和结构的基础上，进行了适度的优化与更新。可能对建筑外立面进行了修缮，确保其与周边环境的协调性，同时提升了建筑的整体外观质感，使其在融入社区环境的同时，展现出新时代的气息。

室内设计：曲线元素的巧妙融入

入口区域的柔和开场

Starting at the entrance of the home, the design team broke the mold and subtly softened the typical square layout of the bungalow's first floor by adding a slightly curved seating bench. The bench's open slats not only create a unique sense of separation and define the entry space, but also maintain the transparency and warmth of the space through the use of warm wood tones and tiles, setting a unique and comfortable tone for the entire home space.

从住宅入口开始，设计团队便打破常规，通过添加一个略带曲线的座椅长椅，巧妙地柔化了平房首层典型的方正格局。长椅的开放式板条设计不仅营造出一种独特的分离感，界定了入口空间，还通过选用温暖的木材色调和瓷砖，保持了空间的通透与温馨氛围，为整个家庭空间奠定了独特而舒适的基调。

厨房区域的空间拓展与焦点营造

The kitchen is the core area of the home. Despite the limited space, the design team successfully created a large and functional kitchen. The neutral-toned cabinets and countertops give the originally closed kitchen a new look, which is in stark contrast to the common kitchen style in the 1960s.

厨房作为家庭的核心区域，尽管空间有限，但设计团队成功打造出一个宽敞且功能齐全的大厨房。中性色调的橱柜和台面使原本封闭的厨房焕然一新，与 60 年代常见的厨房风格形成鲜明对比。

The wood tone of the kitchen island blends with the hardwood floor, visually guiding people's eyes directly to the large windows at the rear of the house, enhancing the sense of depth of the space. In addition, the range hood is designed with a unique curved shape, breaking the traditional square image of kitchen appliances, becoming an eye-catching focal point in the kitchen space, highlighting the unique creativity of the design.

厨房岛台的木材色调与硬木地板相融合，视觉上引导人们的视线直接延伸至住宅后部的大窗户，增强了空间的纵深感。此外，抽油烟机被设计成独特的曲线造型，打破了厨房电器传统的方正形象，成为厨房空间中引人注目的焦点，彰显出设计的独特创意。

卫生间的曲线与趣味

The main floor powder room is full of curves and whimsy. A large window could have been a design challenge, but the designer cleverly used it to create a Zen atmosphere by offsetting the vanity mirror, bringing an unexpected surprise to those who enter the room.

主层的化妆间充满了曲线元素与奇思妙想。一面大窗户原本可能是设计上的挑战，但设计师巧妙利用，通过偏移梳妆镜的位置，营造出一种禅意氛围，给进入房间的人带来意想不到的惊喜。
