In Meitan, the vast Yongxing Sea of Tea is putting forth fresh green shoots. Over 43,000 mu of tea plants form a green ocean, through which tea pickers weave with bamboo baskets on their backs, their nimble fingers plucking one bud and one leaf to drop into the baskets.
The tea farmers call this "spring's first taste of freshness." One sip, and the chill accumulated through the winter melts away.

A hundred miles north, the white tea mountains of Zheng'an offer a different scene. The tea plants here are of a special variety: the tender buds take on a jade-white hue in early spring, their leaf veins a vivid green, with amino acid levels several times those of ordinary green tea. The harvest window for Zheng'an white tea is extremely short—just over twenty days a year—so the locals affectionately call it "picking gold."

On Luosike Mountain in Duyun, clouds and mist shroud the tea groves year-round. The Duyun Maojian tea produced here is prized for its slender, tight, curled, and twisted shape. Resembling a fishhook, the buds are covered in fine white fuzz, gleaming silver against a backdrop of emerald green. The tea-making process demands real skill: pan-firing in an iron wok and hand-rolling to achieve that exquisite taste—a perfect balance of "three greens leading to three yellows." Locals often say that a good cup of Maojian is "spring made visible."

At the foot of Leishan Mountain, Miao girls sit together, deftly rolling freshly plucked tea leaves. They hand-shape the tender buds into round, silvery spheres—each one smooth, even, and full—creating the unique Leishan Silver Ball Tea. When boiling water is poured in, the silver ball slowly unfurls in the cup like a blossoming flower, the tea liquor gradually turning a golden hue as a delicate floral fragrance fills the air.

From northern to southern Guizhou, from jade-white to emerald-green, from flat to round—spring in Guizhou is strung together by these tender tea buds. Misty mountains, soil with just the right pH balance, and a warm, humid climate all year round make this land a paradise for tea cultivation. Today, Guizhou's tea gardens cover over 7 million mu, ranking among the top in the country, and every tea leaf holds the essence of spring from the mountain villages.

The tea gardens awaken, and spring awakens with them. If you come to Guizhou, find a tea mountain and enjoy a cup of freshly brewed new tea. In that brisk, refreshing taste lies the soul of Guizhou's mountains and waters, as well as the simple yet profound love of the people here for life itself.
