Neglecting these urgent contemporary issues would lead to irreversible consequences for humanity, for which it is crucial for societies to focus on mitigating them.

Furthermore, historical research plays a pivotal role in preserving cultural identity and fostering social cohesion, which are fundamental to ironing out social issues in the present. Understanding the history of a nation or a community helps people recognise their shared heritage, values and struggles, promoting mutual respect and tolerance among different groups.
