新华网8月26日电 据英国《太阳报》报道，英国一名非法移民为了避免被移民局驱逐出境，竟然将自己反锁在了一家肯德基的冰箱里。执法人员在-20 C的冰柜里发现了这名巴基斯坦雇员，他全身发抖，和上百只冷冻鸡呆在一起。

英国内政部7月22日在接到有关非法移民的线报后对位于剑桥郡的一家肯德基进行了突击检查。

一名消息人士表示，“当执法人员进入店内时，肯德基的一名工作人员立即藏到了冰箱里”

“这是他唯一可以躲的地方，所以执法人员也很快将他找了出来。”消息人士说，“除了可能患上了感冒，他应该没有其他健康问题。”

这名巴基斯坦斯坦员工现年23岁，目前已经申请了在英国的居留权，但其申请仍在处理中。

据报道，如果该名员工没有在英国的合法居留权的话，他将被驱逐出境。但考虑到他已经同一名英国公民结婚，因此他将被允许继续留在英国。

一名肯德基发言人表示，“我们在招聘员工时有非常严格审核制度，更不会有意雇佣在英国没有合法居留权的员工。”

Officials discovered the Pakistani employee shivering in -20 C temperatures among hundreds of frozen chickens.

Home Office agents had swooped on the fast-food shop following a tip-off.

A source told The Sun: “As officers entered the premises a staff member hid in a walk-in freezer.

“There was only one place he could have gone — it didn t take them long to find him.

“He did not suffer any lasting health problems, other than maybe catching a cold.”

The worker, 23, currently has an application for leave to remain in the country being considered by the Home Office.

If he is found to have no right to stay he will be booted out — but it is understood he will be allowed to stay as he is married to a UK citizen.

A KFC spokeswoman said: “We have strict hiring practices and carry out stringent checks for all new starters, and never knowingly employ anybody who doesn t have the right to work in the UK.
