新华网9月29日电(记者林杉)数百名英国航空公司乘客和十几个航班25日因第五航站楼行李运送系统故障而不能按时起飞。

第五航站楼的电脑系统出现了故障,导致所有旅客行李无法送上飞机。而英国航空几乎所有航班都从该航站楼出发。

行李传送系统的问题在早上9点多出现,机场花了3个小时来修理。航空公司安排等候多时的乘客找座位,或者改签其他航班。

航空公司通知说:我们很抱歉给旅客造成的不便,我们正在与机场方面协调,尽量减少对您的影响。

伦敦希思罗机场发言人表示:我们正向航站楼增派人员来帮助旅客。

这次事故没有影响进港航班,但令人想起了2008年机场开放时的混乱场面,当时几百件行李被搞混,起飞时间大大延迟。不过此后很少出现问题,而且旅客评价很好。

By GARY O SHEA Published: 26th September 2013 HUNDREDS of British Airways passengers were stranded and dozens of jets delayed at Heathrow yesterday — as a glitch stopped bags being checked in.

The computer chaos at Terminal Five — where almost all BA Heathrow planes leave from — meant travellers with luggage for the cargo hold could not fly.

Many had to wait for hours while staff found them seats on later flights.

The fault, which began at around 9am, took three hours to fix. The airline said: “We are sorry for any inconvenience to customers and we are working hard with the airport owner to minimise any disruption.”

A Heathrow spokeswoman added: “We have additional staff in the terminal to help passengers.”

The mayhem did not affect arriving flights.

But it echoes the terminal s disastrous opening day in 2008, which saw hundreds of bags go astray and long delays to flights.

However, it has had few problems since and has won widespread praise.
