新华网9月30日电 据英国《太阳报》报道，英国威廉王子选定其母出殡前安放遗体的教堂作为他的宝贝儿子乔治小王子受洗的场地。

威廉王子和凯特王妃商定将此作为最好的礼物献给戴安娜王妃，其皇家侍从称这是一个“非常私人”的决定。

这场小型私人受洗仪式将于10月23日在伦敦圣詹姆士宫的皇家教堂举行，届时小乔治正好13周大。1997年9月，戴安娜王妃在威斯敏斯特教堂举行葬礼前，她的棺木曾放置在这个教堂5天。

威廉夫妇更倾向将此地作为受洗场地，而不是威廉王子和其父查尔斯王储受洗的白金汉宫音乐室。王室主要成员，好友及家人都将出席，并且即便这个场合是非公开的，小王子乔治的新照也会在稍后公布。

新照中的一张预计会是未来继承人与他的曾祖母伊丽莎白二世女王、祖父查尔斯王储及父亲威廉王子的四代合照。

小王子乔治到时将会穿一袭手工仿制长袍，这件长袍的原版拥有172年历史，它自1841年起历经了30多场皇家洗礼。

这场洗礼仪式将由坎特伯雷大主教贾斯丁-韦尔比主持。他在昨晚宣称：“这真是我无上的特权和荣耀，相信那天一定会是一个充满喜庆的日子。”

George baptism in Diana chapel

PRINCE William has chosen the chapel where his mother s body lay before her funeral as the venue for the christening of baby son Prince George.

William and Kate agreed on the touching tribute to Princess Diana in what royal aides said was a “very personal” decision.

The private midweek ceremony will take place at the Chapel Royal in St James's Palace on October 23, when young George will be just over 13 weeks old. Diana s coffin lay in the chapel for five days before her Westminster Abbey funeral in September 1997.

The couple chose the venue in preference to the Music Room at Buckingham Palace, where both William and Prince Charles were baptised. Senior royals and close friends and family will be at the ceremony — and although the occasion is private, new photographs of George will be released afterwards.
