MAKING CALLS 打电话

Child: Mommy, your phone is making a noise.

宝宝：妈妈，你的电话发出一种声音。

Mother: That noise means my phone is ringing.

妈妈：这个声音说明我的电话在响。

这里noise指声音，而不是噪声。

Someone is calling me.

有人在给我打电话。

Child: Who is it?

宝宝：谁呀？

Is it Daddy?

是爸爸吗？

Mother: If we look at the screen of my phone

妈妈：我们看看手机屏幕，

it tells us who it is.

就知道是谁了。

Child: It is Daddy calling!

宝宝：是爸爸打来的！

Can I talk to him?

我能跟他说话吗？

Mother: Yes, of course.

妈妈：嗯，当然可以。

Would you like to answer it?

你想接吗？

接电话除了answer，有人也用pick up，后文还有get的用法。

Child: Yes, please.

宝宝：嗯嗯。

Mother: Here you go.

妈妈：给你。

你可以拿着我的电话。

按手机屏幕上的键，用tap、touch和press都可以，但是不能用push，push只能用于实物按钮。

and say "hello".

然后说“喂”。

Child: Okay.

宝宝：好的。

Hello, Daddy!

喂，爸爸！

Mother: Let's put the phone on speaker

妈妈：咱们开开免提，

把免提关掉可以说take it off speaker或者take us off speaker。

so you don't have to hold it

这样你就不用拿着了，

and then we can both listen and talk to Daddy.

而且咱俩都能听见，都能和爸爸说。

Daddy: Hello!

爸爸：喂！

Child: Daddy, you sound funny.

宝宝：爸爸，你的声音听起来很奇怪。

Where are you?

你在哪儿呢？

Mother: She is right.

妈妈：她说得对。

We can't hear you very well.

我们听得不是很清楚。

Maybe it's a bad signal.

可能是信号不好。

也可以将signal替换为reception或者connection。

Call us back?

给我们回过来吧？

Daddy: Okay, let me move somewhere else

爸爸：好的，我换个地儿，

and I will call you back.

然后再给你们回电话。

Mother: Okay, let's wait for daddy to call back

妈妈：好的，咱们等爸爸回电话，

and then you can answer the phone again by pressing the green button.

然后你可以再按这个绿色的键接电话。

Phone rings… 电话响起

Child: I will get it!

宝宝：我来接！

Hello, Daddy!

喂，爸爸！

Daddy: Hello!

爸爸：喂！

Can you hear me better now?

清楚点了吗？

Child and Mother: Yes!

宝宝和妈妈：嗯！

Much better.

好多了。

After a chat 聊了一会儿

Mother: Okay, it's time to say goodbye to Daddy.

妈妈：好了，该和爸爸说再见了。

Can you say "bye"

and then press the red button to end the call?

然后按红色键结束通话吧。

Child: Bye-bye, Daddy, love you.

宝宝：拜拜，爸爸，爱你。

See you later!

再见！

Daddy: Goodbye.

爸爸：再见。

综上，“再见”有bye-bye, bye, goodbye, see you later等多种说法。
