中国结是一种手工编织工艺品，是汉族古老文明的象征。中国结原本是旧石器时代的缝衣打结，后推展至汉朝成为仪礼记事，再演变成今日的装饰手艺。周朝人随身的佩戴玉常以中国结为装饰，而战国时代的铜器上也有中国结的图案，延续至清朝，中国结才真正成为了盛传于民间的艺术。如今中国结多用作装饰室内、亲友间的馈赠礼物及个人的随身饰物。因其外观对称精致，可以代表汉族悠久的历史，符合中国传统装饰的习俗和审美观念，故命名为中国结。中国结不仅造型优美、色彩多样，有双钱结、纽扣结、琵琶结、团锦结、十字结、吉祥结、万字结、盘长结、藻井结、双联结、蝴蝶结、锦囊结等多种结式，还代表着团结、幸福、平安，特别是在民间，它精致的做工深受大众的喜爱。
