佛教文献学者、北京大学校友、美国加州大学洛杉矶分校佛教中心印度和中亚佛教学助理教授王臣邑（Diego Loukota Sanclemente）博士，于2024年3月17日因病医治无效在洛杉矶家中去世，年仅38岁。
王臣邑博士正值学术壮年而突然去世，是国际佛教学界的一大损失。
王臣邑博士1985年4月16日出生于哥伦比亚，哥伦比亚国立大学古典音乐专业肄业，于2010年在意大利博洛尼亚大学获得亚洲历史学学士，2011年进入北京大学梵语巴利语专业，师从段晴教授学习于阗语和犍陀罗语，2014年获得硕士学位，硕士论文题目为 ：Anantamukhanirhāradhāraṇī: An Overview of Sanskrit, Chinese, Tibetan, and Khotanese Versions and Parallels （《〈出生无边门陀罗尼经〉研究——梵、汉、藏、于阗语文本与平行本总览》）。
此后进入加州大学洛杉矶分校，师从Gregory Schopen教授研习佛教学，于2019年获得博士学位，博士论文题目为： The Goods that Cannot Be Stolen: Mercantile Faith in Kumāralāta’s Garland of Examples Adorned by Poetic Fancy （《不可侵夺之物：童受〈喻鬘论〉中的商贾信仰》）。
