HUMANISTIC HISTORY

怀仁陶瓷是怀仁市的传统产业，制陶历史已逾期千年，据《中国陶瓷史·历史名窑》记载：“怀仁窑，在今山西怀仁，故名”；明《大明一统志》有“锦屏山在怀仁县西南二十五里，山旧有瓷窑”记载。现发现的制陶址有小峪、张瓦沟、吴家窑三处，始烧于金代，历经元明两代。

Huairen Ceramics is the traditional industry of Huairen, with a history of over a thousand years. According to the History of Chinese Ceramics: Famous Kilns, “Huairen Kiln is located in Huairen, Shanxi, hence Huairen became the name of this kiln”. The Ming Dynasty’s Unification Annals of the Ming Dynasty documented that “Jinping Mountain is 12.5 kilometers southwest of Huairen, and there are porcelain kilns on the mountain”. The pottery making sites discovered now include Xiaoyu, Zhangwagou, and Wujiayao, which began in the Jin Dynasty and went through the Yuan and Ming dynasties.

历史上的怀仁窑烧瓷以黑釉为主，弦纹瓶及罐等器物胎体厚重，装饰有粗线条划花及剔花两种，有雁北地区特色。怀仁陶瓷又以吴家窑、碗窑最为出名，闻名遐迩的大同九龙壁主体琉璃瓷就是由怀仁吴家窑赵氏兄弟烧制而成的，不乏有厂家生产的黑釉描金盖杯被载入《中国陶瓷史》。

In history, porcelains in Huairen kilns were mainly fired with black glaze. Clay bodies of vases and jars with string pattern were decorated with incised and carved design, which has the characteristics of Yanbei region. Huairen Ceramics were also most famous for Wujia Kiln and Wan Kiln. The Nine Dragon Wall in Datong enjoyed widespread renown and the glazed porcelain of its main body was fired by the Zhao brothers from the Wujia Kiln, Huairen. Many black-glazed lid cups decorated with liquid gold produced by kilns in Huairen had been recorded in the History of Chinese Pottery and Procelain.

为了弘扬怀仁陶瓷文化，从2000年起，怀仁市连续举办“中国·怀仁陶瓷文化节”；2005年怀仁被授予“山西省日用陶瓷生产出口基地”称号；2019年怀仁市被授予“中国北方日用瓷都”的称号；2022年，山西省将“怀仁陶瓷”列入首批“十大特色专业镇”。

ORIGIN ENVIRONMENT

怀仁市地处塞外高原、山西北部、雁门关外，怀仁市平川占70%，山区占24%，丘陵、山坡占6%，三分山，七分川。矿藏资源丰富，其中高龄土储量2.2亿吨，品位高，是中国四大优质高岭土之一，是闻名全国的陶瓷生产原料供应基地，在全国早有盛誉。

Huairen is located in the northern part of Shanxi Province, outside the Yanmen Pass, on the plateau north of the Great Wall. In Huairen , plains account for 70%, mountainous areas account for 24%, and hills and slopes account for 6%. The mineral resources are abundant, with a reserve of 220 million tons of high-grade kaolin, which is one of the four high-quality kaolin soils in China. Huairen is a well-known ceramic production raw material supply base, with a long reputation throughout China.

INDUSTRY DEVELOPEMENT

近年来，怀仁市委、市政府为了打造百亿级高端陶瓷产业集群的目标，全力推进陶瓷专业镇建设高质量发展。目前陶瓷生产厂家发展到53家，各类生产线123条，产品由日用陶瓷、包装瓷、琉璃瓦拓展到工艺瓷、建筑瓷等门类；陶瓷辅助类企业100多家，日用瓷年生产能力达到30亿件。

In recent years, the Huairen Municipal Party Committee and Government have made every effort to promote the high-quality development of ceramic professional towns constraction in order to build a high-end ceramic industry cluster of 10 billions. At present, there are 53 ceramic manufacturers, 123 production lines of all kinds. The products have expanded from household ceramics, packaging porcelains, glazed tiles to craft porcelains, architectural porcelains and other categories; there are more than 100 ceramic auxiliary enterprises, and the annual production capacity of household porcelain reaches 3 billion pieces.
