On the morning of September 3, 2024, a friendly exchange meetingaimed at deepening China-Ethiopia economic and trade cooperation and seekingnew opportunities for future development was successfully held at the EthiopianEmbassy in China. Mr. Zhang Huarong, Chairman of Huajian Group, Mr. ZhengTiehu, Senior Advisor of GAC International, and Mr. Ye Xinjian, Country Managerof GAC International Africa, had an in-depth and fruitful dialogue withEthiopian Foreign Minister Taye, Ethiopian Ambassador to China H.E. Mr. Tefera Derbew and Deputy Ambassador to China Mr. Davano Kedir.
张华荣董事长首先向埃塞俄比亚政府致以诚挚的谢意，感谢长期以来对华坚集团在埃塞投资项目所展现的坚定支持与信任。他随后详尽阐述了华坚集团在埃塞俄比亚的蓬勃发展态势及宏伟蓝图，指出埃塞华坚国际轻工业城正加速推进变电站、污水处理厂等关键配套设施的建设步伐，旨在打造一个现代化、可持续的工业园区。展望未来，集团计划在2025年前追加5000万美元的投资，以进一步完善园区基础设施，促进产业升级。
ChairmanZhang Huarong first expressed his sincere gratitude to the Ethiopian governmentfor its long-term firm support and trust in Huajian Group's investment projectsin Ethiopia. He then elaborated on the vigorous development and grand blueprintof Huajian Group in Ethiopia, pointing out that Ethiopia Huajian InternationalLight Industrial City is accelerating the construction of key supportingfacilities such as substations and sewage treatment plants, aiming to create amodern and sustainable industrial park. Looking ahead, the group plans toinvest an additional $50 million by 2025 to further improve the park'sinfrastructure and promote industrial upgrading.
张华荣强调，华坚集团始终坚守“以人为本、服务全球”的核心理念，致力于深化与埃塞俄比亚的产能合作，不仅着眼于提升当地就业水平，改善民生福祉，更积极探索多元化、创新性的合作模式，力求为埃塞俄比亚的工业化进程注入强劲动力，为经济社会全面发展贡献更多华坚力量。
Zhang Huarong emphasized that Huajian Group has always adheredto the core concept of "people-oriented, serving the world" and iscommitted to deepening production capacity cooperation with Ethiopia. It notonly focuses on improving local employment levels and improving people'slivelihood, but also actively explores diversified and innovative cooperationmodels, striving to inject strong impetus into Ethiopia's industrializationprocess and contribute more Huajian strength to the comprehensive developmentof the economy and society.

H.E.Ethiopian Foreign Minister Taye highly praised HuajianGroup's positive contribution to Ethiopia's economic and social development. H.E.MinisterTaye said that the Ethiopian government attaches great importance to economicand trade cooperation with China, especially companies like Huajian Group thathave a sense of social responsibility and can bring practical benefits to thelocal area. He emphasized that the Ethiopian government will continue tooptimize the business environment and provide more convenience and support forthe development of Chinese companies in Ethiopia. He looks forward to workinghand in hand with Huajian Group to jointly create a new situation for economicand trade cooperation between the two countries.

During the meeting, Mr. Zheng Tiehu, Senior Advisor of GACInternational, shared the plan of GAC Group and Huajian Group to introduce CBUin Ethiopia and cooperate in the assembly and production of electric vehiclesin the future. H.E. Minister Taye said that the Ethiopian government isvigorously promoting environmental protection and sustainable development andis committed to reducing carbon emissions from fossil fuels. He warmly welcomesGAC's production in Ethiopia and looks forward to attending the openingceremony in person. He emphasized that this decision is not only in line withEthiopia's environmental protection policy, but also of great strategicsignificance. It is a wise choice for Ethiopia, Huajian and GAC.

H.E.Ambassador Mr. Tefera Derbew andDeputy Ambassador Davano Kedir also actively responded to the initiative ofChairman Zhang Huarong and GAC International representatives in their speeches.They introduced in detail a series of reform measures and preferential policiesbeing implemented by the Ethiopian government to attract foreign investment andpromote economic development, and expressed their firm confidence in thedevelopment prospects of Huajian Group and GAC Group in Ethiopia.
