当外国人跟你说 I‘m lost. 的时候，

可不是要表达“我输了”的意思，

更不是“我叫劳斯特”的自我介绍。

如果你也犯了以上两个错误，

可要好好学习一下今天的内容~

Lost作为动词时，

确实有“输掉”的意思，

但当我们说 I‘m lost. 时，

这里的lost却是作为形容词的，

表达的是另外两种意思哟。

I‘m lost. 我没听懂。

当lost作为形容词时，

有一个意思表示“没听懂”，

比如下面两个例句：

例句一：

A: Remember when the dinosaur bit his arm off?

还记得恐龙把他的手咬下来的事情吗？

B: I’m lost. I have no idea what you guys are talking about. I’ve never seen that movie.

我已经听迷糊了，完全不知道在说什么呢，没看过这个电影。

例句二：

I’m completely lost. Can you explain it?

我完全不明白。你能解释一下吗？

I‘m lost. 我迷路了。

Lost作形容词时，

除了“没听懂”还可以表示“迷路”，

比如下面两个例句：

例句一：

A: I’m lost. Can you tell me how to get to your place from the bus station?

我走丢了，你能告诉我怎么从车站到你的地方吗？

B: Turn right on 35th street, then left at the next light, then another right two blocks later.

在35街的时候右转，下个红绿灯左转，然后走两个街区的时候在右转。

A: Umm… I’m lost. What did you say after 35th street?

啊，我现在晕了，在35街之后你说了什么？

例句二：

I was lost in the woods.

我在树林里迷路了。

Lost 遗失；失去；输掉

作为动词时，

lost是lose的过去时态，

这时它就可以表示“我输了”了。

它在表示“遗失”、“输掉”的意思时，

是这样使用的：

例句一：

I can’t return this shirt because I lost the receipt.

我不能把这件体恤退回去了。因为我把收据弄丢了。

例句二：

Miami Heat just lost two games.

迈阿密热火刚输了两场比赛。
