Rat on sb/sth - to not be loyal to someone.

  • He ratted on us.

  • Don’t worry. He won’t rat us out.

Size sth/sb up

To examine something or someone carefully and decide what you think about it, him, or her.

  • Voters are still sizing up the candidates.

    选民仍在评估候选人。

  • The two cats walked in circles around each other, sizing each other up.

    两只猫绕着彼此转圈，互相打量着对方。

Farm sth out - to give work to other people to do

  • Magazines often farm out articles to freelance journalists.
