1月 January
宁诺和宁波石化经济技术开发区管理委员会签订战略合作框架协议,将在人才培养和科技创新等方面展开深入合作,推动更多先进科研的成果转化。
来自16个国家和地区的25名留校过年的师生,走进奉化区大堰镇,感受山村地道的中国年味。
2月 February
人民日报客户端播发宁波诺丁汉大学党委书记应雄专访。
尼克·迈尔斯校长收到来自时任浙江省省长郑栅洁,宁波市委副书记、市长裘东耀,浙江省教育厅党委书记、厅长陈根芳等省市领导来信。他们肯定了学校近年来取得的瞩目成绩,对学校未来发展寄予殷切希望。
3月 March
两任英国诺丁汉大学执行校长、宁波诺丁汉大学执行理事长——甘柯林爵士和格林纳威爵士“登”宁波荣誉市民荣誉馆。
2020年度宁波市科技企业孵化器认定名单出炉,宁波诺丁汉国际创新创业孵化园(李达三孵化园)位列其中,是榜上唯一一家由大学作为运营主体的专业孵化器。
4月 April
第九届宁波国际大学生节暨第五届宁波诺丁汉大学国际教育周开幕。来自各在甬高校的约200名留学生欢聚宁诺,感受多元文化魅力。
以“创造一个可持续的世界”为主题的科研展举行,紧扣联合国可持续发展目标,从智能城市、创新材料、保护生态多样性等多个角度展示宁诺在促进可持续发展方面的科研成就。
5月 May
张何教授申报的《区域飞机“绿色滑行”高效机电能量转换系统关键技术合作研究》获得科技部国家重点研发计划“政府间国际科技创新合作”重点专项立项。
诺丁汉大学卓越灯塔计划(宁波)创新研究院举行启动仪式,入驻宁波高新技术开发区,并与多家知名企业签订科研合作协议。
6月 June
2020年度浙江科技奖励大会召开,诺丁汉大学大家庭喜获多项荣誉:英诺获得国际科学技术合作奖,宁诺牵头的创新成果“基于过程强化的有机固废高效清洁资源化转化技术与应用”获浙江省科学技术进步奖三等奖。
中国国际电视台(CGTN)“万亿城市”宁波首站系列活动——“圆桌青年说”在宁诺举行。宁诺商学院院长、战略管理教授马丁•洛克特在现场和青年代表们探讨交流当下经济、城市发展的各种奇思妙想。
7月 July
宁诺经济系健康经济学客座教授陈茁登上国际权威医学期刊《柳叶刀》,以“新冠疫情后的中美卫生交流与合作”为题展望中美卫生合作之路。
宁诺与西湖大学“牵手”,将围绕研究中心共建、科学技术攻关、博士研究生联合培养、双学位和联合办学、师生交流交换等方面开展深度合作。
8月 August
宁诺社会科学总论(一般社会科学)首次进入ESI全球前1%,工程科学从ESI全球前1%跃升至全球前0.5%。
践行中外合作大学的社会责任,宁诺向持有国外一流大学录取通知书的中国籍学生敞开大门。
9月 September
英国诺丁汉大学执行校长席若·韦斯特教授荣获“宁波市荣誉市民”称号。
在“2021年中国社会影响力大奖”评选活动中,宁诺荣获“社区文化奖”。
宁诺23门课程被认定为2020年度省级一流课程。
10月 October
宁波市人才国际化发展研究基地花落宁诺。
举办生涯规划嘉年华、毕业生校园招聘等系列就业活动,字节跳动、哔哩哔哩、欧莱雅等世界500强和国内外知名企业入校园揽人才。
11月 November
宁波诺十位学者入选全球前2%顶尖科学家名单。
宁波诺丁汉大学李达三孵化园新址启用暨全球引才创业项目路演会举行,李达三孵化园迎来新一阶段的发展。
12月 December
第八届中国欧盟商会企业社会责任大奖颁奖典礼举行,宁诺因在文化遗产保护领域的贡献和成就,荣获“区域环境保护卓越奖”。
诺丁汉大学卓越灯塔计划(宁波)创新研究院宣布新掌舵人,全球引才共绘宁波发展蓝图。

2021 IN REVIEW
2021 has flown by. With Lunar New Year approaching, we’re taking the opportunity to review some of the past year’s highlights and look to a happy Year of the Tiger!
2021 university highlights
January
University of Nottingham Ningbo China (UNNC) signed a strategic partnership framework agreement with the Management Committee of Ningbo Petrochemical Economic and Technological Development Zone to further enhance cooperation in terms of talent cultivation and technology innovation, in order to better promote technology transfer.
25 staff and students from 16 countries and regions remained on campus during the winter break and took a trip to Dayan Village, Fenghua to experience the unique local culture.
February
Mr Ying Xiong, the UNNC Party Secretary, has his exclusive interview with Ningbo TV picked up by People's Daily for further circulation across China.
Nick Miles, UNNC Provost, received letters from Zheng Shanjie, the then Governor of Zhejiang Province, Qiu Dongyao, Deputy Party Secretary and Mayor of Ningbo Municipal Government, and Chen Genfang, Director General of Zhejiang Provincial Department of Education. They affirmed the remarkable achievements of UNNC and placed great hope in its future development.
March
Two former Vice Chancellors of the University of Nottingham, Professor Sir Colin Campbell and Professor Sir David Greenaway were showcased in the new Hall of Ningbo Honorary Citizens.
The Ningbo Nottingham International Incubator Park (Li Dak Sum Incubator) was recognised as a Ningbo municipal level professional incubator.
April
The 9th Ningbo International University Students Festival & The 5th UNNC International Education Week kicked off, with around 200 international students who live and study in Ningbo gathering at UNNC.
UNNC Research Exhibition titled “Creating a sustainable world” was held on campus. The exhibition showcased a variety of research projects on diverse topics including smart cities, innovative materials and bio-diversity, each contributing to at least one of the United Nations’ Sustainable Development Goals.
May
Professor He Zhang’s project on “green taxiing” was approved by the Ministry of Science and Technology of China as an "Intergovernmental International Cooperation on Scientific and Technological Innovation" programme.
The Nottingham Ningbo China Beacons of Excellence Research and Innovation Institute was officially launched.
June
At the 2020 Zhejiang Science and Technology Award Conference, University of Nottingham obtained International Science and Technology Cooperation Award. “Research and Development on microwave pyrolysis – catalytic reforming-based technology and equipment for harmless treatment and resource utilisation of pharmaceutical sludge”, led by UNNC, won the third prize for Zhejiang Science and Technology Progress Award.
Professor Martin Lockett, Dean of Nottingham University Business School, discussed with youth representatives about city development at the Ningbo Youth Roundtable held by China Global Television Network.
July
The article "US-China Health Exchange and Collaboration following COVID-19" by Dr Zhuo Chen, Visiting Professor in Health Economics at UNNC, was published in the prestigious medical journal The Lancet.
UNNC signed a memorandum of understanding (MOU) with Westlake University to strengthen ties between the two institutions in academic and research cooperation.
August
Social Sciences (General) at UNNC ranked internationally in the top 1% of Essential Science Indicators (ESI), and the engineering discipline moved up to the top 0.5%.
UNNC opened applications for Chinese students who have received admission offers from top foreign universities.
September
Professor Shearer West, Vice-Chancellor of University of Nottingham, was awarded honorary citizenship of Ningbo.
23 modules at UNNC were recognised as Provincial Level ‘First Class’ UG Modules.
UNNC won the Community and Culture Award at the 2021 China Social Impact Awards ceremony.
October
UNNC was approved to establish an International Talent Development Research Base by the Ningbo Social Science Academy.
The 2022 graduate autumn jobs fair, along with the Career Carnival, was kicked off at UNNC. UNNC graduates were favoured by top employers such as ByteDance, Bilibili, and L’Oreal.
November
10 UNNC academics were ranked among the top 2% of scientists in the world.
The Li Dak Sum Incubator launched in the brand-new Innovation and Enterprise Building on the campus along with the Global Entrepreneurial Talents Pitch.
December
UNNC was awarded the Excellence in Environment Conservation-Regional Award of the 8th Corporate Social Responsibility Award by the European Union Chamber of Commerce in China, for its outstanding contribution and achievement in preservation and promotion of cultural heritage.
Professor Tao Wu took on a new role as Vice Provost for the China Beacons Institute (CBI) at UNNC.
2021 has witnessed the growth and achievements of UNNC, as well as the continuous efforts and achievements from staff and students. Now we welcome a brand-new year, the Year of the Tiger, a new beginning! We wish you a happy Lunar New Year! May all your hopes come true! Do not forget that on your path to the future, the Nottingham Duck will always be with you!
