tea是茶，那low tea是什么意思呢？

来源：上流社会在下午四点左右享用的下午茶， 因为他们是坐在起居室矮桌上享用的，所以称为“low tea”。这种下午茶非常讲究，茶壶都是纯银的，而且糖块也需要由镊子取用，主食除了精美蛋糕外，还有小块的三明治、司康饼等甜点和水果。

反之，“high tea”是指工人阶级在下午六点左右吃的下午茶，一般是土豆、肉类等容易果腹的食物，且“high tea”一般都是搭配高背椅，在晚餐桌上吃，因此被称为“high tea”。
