听前想一想：它们用中文怎么说？

虽然 other 常常表示“其他的，别的，另外的”，但是the other day 却不是另一天。

我们一起看看它的英语解释：a few days ago，也就是说它的意思是“前几天，几天前”，而“另一天”的正确表达应该是 another day。像类似容易误解的关于 day 的短语还有很多。

例句1：Didn't I see you in the post officethe other day?

前几天我不是还在邮局见过你吗？

例句2：Maybe we can plan a trip to the beachanother daywhen the weather is nicer.

或者我们可以另外找一天天气好的时候去海边。

change it to another day 改天

take a rain check (on sth)

下次吧，以后再说

讲解：这个表达最初指，棒球赛因下雨延期举行时观众得到的‘未来’入场券。如果球赛进行时天公不作美，骤然倾盆大雨，不得不暂停，观众可领“雨票”，或用原票存根作为“雨票”(rain check)，球赛改期举行时可凭之入场。这句话后来有了引申意，广泛应用于日常生活中。

例句1：I have to work overtime today. Guess I'll have totake a rain check.

我今天得加班，可能得改天了。

例句2：That's a pity. Let'schange it to another day.

可惜了，那改天吧。

伺机再战；争取重振旗鼓

例句1：We didn't win this time, but welive to fight another day.

这次我们没有获胜，但下回我们再论输赢。

例句2：The athlete decided to withdraw from the competition to avoid injury andlive to fight another day.

这名运动员决定退赛以避免受伤，从而保存实力伺机再战。

in those days 过去，从前

例句1：Vegetarianism is very popularthese days.

现在素食很流行。

例句2：In those dayspeople used to write a lot more letters.

过去人们写信要多得多。

the days 时期；时代

例句1：How did people communicate inthe daysbefore email?

没有电子邮件的时候人们是怎样交流的？

例句2：He has come a long way sincethe dayshe could only afford one meal a day.

和以前那种一天只吃得起一顿饭的日子相比他取得了很大的成就。

one fine day

突然有一天，总有一天

讲解：如果要说“美好的一天”，可以用 a nice day / a lovely day / a wonderful day 等表达。

例句1：One fine day, I'm going to travel the world.

总有一天，我会环游世界的。

例句2：One fine day, I stumbled upon a beautiful garden.

突然有一天，我意外发现了一个美丽的花园。

any day now

很快，过不了多久；就这几天

讲解：用来泛指将来某个不确定的日子。

例句1：The baby's dueany day now.

就这几天宝宝就要出生了。

例句2：My package should be deliveredany day now.

我的包裹这两天马上就要到了。

(from) day to day 每天；时常

讲解：暗含“情况经常改变，改变经常发生"的意思。

例句1：The symptoms of the disease changefrom day to day.

这种疾病的症状每天都会发生变化。

例句2：Hopefully, our listeners can learn something new from our podcastfrom day to day.

嗨！大家好！这里是啊Q！

之前因为感觉室友楼下的鸡叉骨不错，昨天拜托她给我带了一份，智齿还没好也不怕死地点了中辣，吃完嘴巴都辣肿了，喝了一瓶康师傅吃了两根旺旺碎碎冰才镇静下来。

果不其然，今天就拉肚子了，到现在已经拉三轮了，谁懂啊，吃辣之后拉肚子的那种痛只能说 还好没痔疮，听大家说有痔疮能痛厥过去。。。
