大家都知道“画饼充饥”这个成语吧，本意是表达画个饼来解除饥饿，比喻用空想来安慰自己或欺骗别人。

但现在由画饼衍生出的新的网络热词——“画大饼”， 是职场很流行的热梗，公司管理者“画大饼”，谈论职业理想、未来规划等，不切实际的东西，多指上司的空头承诺。

那小伙伴们知道在英语中我们怎么表达画大饼呢？可不是 draw a pie 哦！

over the moon

非常开心，欣喜若狂

讲解：字面意思是“在月亮上”，能去到月亮上是件非常开心的事情，所以用“over the moon”形容非常开心，欣喜若狂。

例句1：I amover the moonright now.

我现在太开心了。

例句2：I amover the moonabout my new phone.

得到一台新手机我太开心了。

ask for the moon

痴心妄想，异想天开

讲解："ask for the moon" is to ask for something that is very difficult or impossible to get，想要月亮是不可能的，所以俚语“ask for the moon”引申意思为痴心妄想，异想天开。

例句1：Don'task for the moon, we should cherish what we have.

别异想天开了，珍惜我们所拥有的。

例句2：You wereasking for a moonthat you want me to send you a Cartier necklace.

你想让我送你一条卡地亚项链，真是异想天开。

promise (someone) the moon

画大饼

讲解：It means to promise to give people things that you cannot in fact possibly give them. 向某人承诺做不到的事情，也就是我们说的“画大饼”。

例句1：They try to lure customers bypromising the moon.

他们会向顾客画大饼来引诱他们（消费）。

例句2：I can'tpromise you the moon, but I can do the best job I can.

我不能给你画大饼（不能保证我一定能做到这件事），但我会尽力。

once in a blue moon 千载难逢

讲解：blue moon 是一种天文现象。如果有一个月出现两次月圆之夜，第二个满月就被称为“蓝月亮”，这种现象平均两年半出现一次，所以会用“once in a blue moon”表示千载难逢，难得一次。

例句1：My friend has settled in Australia, so I only see heronce in a blue moon.

我的朋友已经在澳大利亚定局了，所以我们难得见一次面。

例句2：It's reallyonce in a blue moonthat you get such a good opportunity.

你得到了一个千载难逢的好机会。

shoot/reach for the moon

力争最好

讲解：字面意思是“射击月亮”，有一种志当存高远的感觉，通常是用来形容某个人很有雄心壮志很有目标，力争最好。

例句1：Shoot for the moon, even if you miss, you'll land among the stars.

瞄准月亮，即使迷失，也会散落在星辰之间。

例句：2If you don'tshoot for the moon/reach for the moon, you'll never know what can be yours.

如果你不力争最好，你永远不知道能得到什么。

moon around 闲逛

讲解：这里 moon 作动词使用，意思是闲逛，spend time without any clear purpose, especially because you are slightly sad or in love.

例句：All that she has done since her boyfriend left her is tomoon around.

她和男朋友分手之后，她整天都无所事事的在外面闲荡。

moon away 虚度光阴

例句1：Don'tmoon awayyour youth, cherish your time.

不要虚度你的青春，珍惜时间。

例句2：I wish I couldmoon awayin Tibet.

真希望我可以去西藏虚度时光。

moon over 暗暗地思念

讲解：It means to spend time thinking about someone or something that you love, in a silly way that does not achieve anything. 意思是暗暗的想念或者看爱慕的对象。

例句1：A handsome boy just came to the class, and all the girls aremooning overhim.

一个帅气的男孩来上课，所有的女孩都偷偷地看着那个他。

例句2：He spends all his timemooning overa girl at school.

他把所有的时间都用来思念学校里的一个女生。

长沙最近真的好热，尽管昨天下了一场大暴雨，但今天的太阳依旧很毒。

一天24小时都待在空调房才好，回家第一件事就是打开空调，直到早上背好包踏出房门的最后一刻才肯把空调关上。

Lily说她做饭汗流满面，汗滴到地上、滴到砧板上、甚至滴到菜上，只能说夏天做饭真是太遭罪了，以后再也不随便点评爸妈做的饭菜了
