IT 外媒 The Register 今天与博通进行了核实（媒体和分析师的询问目前并不由VMware的工作人员处理），被告知 VMware 业务将作为博通的以下四个部门来运营：

（1）VMware Cloud Foundation（VCF），由高级副总裁兼总经理 Krish Prasad 领导。

（2）Tanzu（TNZ），由副总裁兼总经理 Purnima Padmanabhan 领导。

（3）软件定义边缘（SDE），由副总裁兼总经理 Sanjay Uppal 领导。

（4）应用软件网络和安全（ANS），由副总裁兼总经理 Umesh Mahajan 领导。

上述四位高管在 VMware 都担任过类似的职位。

博通采取的公司结构是运营的部门各自负责相应的产品组，因此 VMware 部门（iDivisions）并不意外。

博通的高管名单上共有 26 个部门。

Purnima Padmanabhan 被任命为 Tanzu 的负责人，意味着该名单上领导业务部门的女性数量翻了一番，达到两人。

虽然没有一个部门提到最终用户计算佐证了博通对该产品系列兴趣不大的传闻，但首席执行官陈福阳表示，他打算继续推行 VMware 之前奉行的“应用无处不在”（app anywhere）战略。但是在一篇博文和采访中，他对该产品系列只字未提。他确实重申了有意与 VMware 的渠道伙伴合作，确保产品更容易部署，并建立一个简化多云操作的平台。

All of you would have seen the announcements from Broadcom regarding the close of the transaction, the go-forward strategy, and the organizational structure under the leadership of Hock Tan.

It has been my absolute privilege and honor to lead VMware for the last three years. During this time, we have navigated a dizzying journey together that spans the full lifecycle of a business — from raising debt financing to spinning off from Dell and operating as a standalone public company, to being acquired by Broadcom and executing through a complex regulatory process to finally arrive at this milestone moment in VMware’s history. Throughout it all, I have been amazed at the resiliency and focus of the VMware team as we repeatedly beat our financial goals, broke new ground with our product releases, and took time to celebrate the values that make us a special company.

Our innovations have positively impacted both businesses and the planet in so many ways. Building these technologies and serving our customers over the last two decades has truly been the defining journey of my professional life. Along the way, I have been privileged to work alongside an amazing group of colleagues and leaders. Many of you are still here at VMware, while many have gone on to accomplish remarkable things at other companies. To all of my current and former colleagues, thank you for all that you do. It has truly been a pleasure working with you all.

I have also been fortunate to collaborate and build lasting relationships with the industry's finest minds, many of whom are VMware customers and partners. To my industry colleagues, thank you for the privilege of working with you. I will always be grateful for the opportunity to work with, learn from, and be inspired by you.

As this chapter of VMware comes to a close, I am enormously proud of what we together have accomplished for our customers, for each other and for our investors. And while I am very appreciative of our past, I am equally optimistic and confident about VMware’s future.

Technology has been – and always will be – a powerful force for progress and for good, and we all get to contribute and make that a reality every day. So regardless of whether you are joining Broadcom or starting your next chapter elsewhere, I wish each of you the very best and all the success in making a positive impact in this world.

As for myself, I plan to take a short break, rejuvenate, and then find a new and impactful mission into which I can pour my energy and passion. I will also continue my association with VMware as a strategic advisor to Hock Tan. I have no doubt that our paths will cross again. Until then, thank you, goodbye and good health.
