The Role
Reporting to the Regional Director, North Asia, the Marketing Executive, China, represents Destination NSW’s operations in Chinese Mainland, Hong Kong and Taiwan. The role supports and assists with the implementation of cooperative partnership marketing campaigns, consumer direct marketing campaigns, media content partnerships as well as the coordination and execution of trade marketing projects for the North Asia market. The role also provides administration support in the day-to-day operation of the office including basic account and bookkeeping functions.
Key Responsibilities Include:
Assist the Regional Director, North Asia with marketing activities and promotional campaigns, including tracking results.
Support the delivery of key distribution partners and airline partnership marketing activities.
Support the delivery of consumer direct destination/event campaigns to the China market.
Support the delivery of content media partnerships both direct and as part of partnership activity with Tourism Australia.
Support the delivery of campaign contracting, creative approvals and reporting.
Support the building of China trade advocacy for Sydney and NSW through trade training and travel industry engagement activities.
Represent Destination NSW at consumer travel & trade expos, trade webinars, industry functions, and forums, which may be outside of normal working hours.
Manage the DNSW owned China social media platforms with updated and relevant content that supports ongoing in-market activity.
Manage the local website/mini program with updated and relevant content that supports ongoing in-market activity.
Contribute to the Destination NSW strategic, operational and budgetary planning and management processes to achieve corporate and strategic objectives.
Provide administrative support to ensure the timely execution of finance, reporting and administrative duties for the Chinese Mainland and Hong Kong offices.
Support the Regional Director, North Asia to maintain good working relationships with co-operative partners, e.g. Airlines, wholesalers, online travel agents, retailers and Tourism Australia to maximise partnership opportunities.
Develop and maintain professional working relationships with Destination NSW Head Office and external partners.
Regularly check and update the CRM system with relevant contacts.
Develop presentations and training materials for trade engagement programs.
Store and maintain DNSW collateral supplies and distribute accordingly to stakeholders.
About You
Marketing experience, preferably in destination marketing and partnership roles, with knowledge and skills across digital channels, creative development and content marketing.
Tertiary qualification in tourism, marketing or other relevant subject or equivalent experience or skills.
Fluent and good command of English & Chinese / Mandarin communication skills in both written as well as oral.
Proficiency in the Microsoft Office suite, particularly Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Adobe and adaptability in using various systems and programs.
High level organisational time management skills, with proven ability to plan, prioritise, organise monitor, multi-task and co-ordinate workloads and meet deadlines under pressure.
To be able to independently and legally live and work in China.
