11月10日，4位音乐家将在上海音乐学院的舞台上开展钢琴协奏曲轮次——“既要演奏钢琴并同时指挥乐队”的终极挑战，让我们一起期待决赛的精彩瞬间！
Exciting News: Finalists Announced for the 1st SHCM International Musician Competition!
We are thrilled to share the results of the Semifinal of the 1st SHCM International Musician Competition. After two incredible days on October 30 and 31, eight outstanding musicians emerged from 20 contestants to advance to the next stage—the Art Song Round. This round was a true celebration of musical diversity. Contestants presented classic Austro-German works by composers like Franz Schubert and Robert Schumann, and also delivered exquisite interpretations of two pieces from the collection Three Wishes from a Rose: 16 Selected Chinese Art Songs, which was jointly published by the Shanghai Conservatory of Music and the German publisher Breitkopf & Härtel.
The repertoire for the Art Song Round was thoughtfully curated to celebrate both Eastern and Western classics. Contestants were required to delve into representative pieces of Western classical music, while also interpreting Chinese art songs such as Three Wishes from a Rose and The Great River—works that masterfully blend Chinese poetry with Western compositional techniques. This framework aims to foster an understanding of cultural differences and encourage musicians to embrace diverse cultural expressions, thereby enhancing their sensitivity and adaptability in cross-cultural music interpretation.
