Science Officer (Academic Events Coordinator)

SANS is seeking to recruit talented individuals to join our team of Scientific Officers. The position is supervised by and directly reports to the CSO (Chief Scientific Officer). This is a unique and exciting opportunity to participate in shaping the scientific research program of this brand new institution by playing active roles in scientific talent identification, recruitment, and evaluation, as well as other activities that facilitate scientific exchange and communications such as organizing scientific conferences and building virtual scientific communities. The "Scientific Officers Team" plays a key and important role in SANS's construction as a new type of research institution with management-oriented characteristics.

Key Responsibilities:

1.Organize scientific community activities, including but not limited to coordinating review panels, SANS scholars and potential candidates, as well as planning academic events such as conferences, forums, seminars, and lectures (including virtual events), with a focus on academic content development.

2.Prepare press releases and communication materials related to the above-mentioned academic events and activities.

3.Maintain regular communication and coordination within the SANS scholar community to facilitate academic exchange and collaboration.

4.Track latest updates of science from top-tier journals and conferences, and provide insights and recommendations with strategies.

5.Perform other duties as assigned by the CSO.

Qualifications:

1.A minimum requirement is an advanced degree in life sciences/biomedical sciences or related fields (PhD or MD);

2.Past working experience as a Scientific Editor at a prestigious international journal would be a plus;

3.Fluency in English and Chinese;

4.Strong inter-personal and communication skills;

5.Multi-tasking and continuous-learning capability;

6.Familiarity with common office software and analytical tools.
