12月7日，上海古籍出版社就《西厢记》一书编校质量问题，发布情况通报称，已“通知经销商全面下架该书”，“并向广大读者表示诚挚的歉意”。
A Chinese education blogger's public criticism has led to a major publisher recalling and apologizing for a classic literary work due to numerous editorial errors.
情况通报如下：
12月2日晚，有读者在网络平台对上海古籍出版社出版的《西厢记》一书提出批评，称发现多处错误。上海古籍出版社第一时间启动图书质量检查程序。12月3日，我社即通知经销商全面下架该书。12月4日，完成该书的质检报告，确认该书存在编校质量问题。对此，我们深感愧疚，并向广大读者表示诚挚的歉意。
12月5日，上海古籍出版社负责人专程赴京联系该读者，希望能够当面听取意见建议，但因该读者表示工作繁忙而未能当面沟通。我社负责人通过短信向其反馈了初步处理情况，并对该读者提出的批评指正表达了衷心感谢。
12月6日，上海古籍出版社召开图书质量工作专题会议，就《西厢记》一书中暴露出的内部管理问题和质量把关问题，进行深刻反思并研究整改措施；要求全社上下吸取教训、举一反三，强调要始终把编校质量作为出版社的生命线。
Shanghai Ancient Books Publishing House announced on Sunday that it had initiated a quality check immediately after being alerted. The publisher said it ordered all distributors to remove the book from shelves on Wednesday and completed a quality assessment report on Thursday, confirming the existence of editorial problems.
The publisher also revealed that on Friday, a senior representative traveled to Beijing, hoping to meet the blogger in person, but was unable to do so as the blogger cited a busy schedule. Feedback and gratitude were instead conveyed via text message.
An internal meeting was held on Saturday to reflect on the management and quality control issues exposed by this case and to formulate corrective measures. The publisher emphasized it would "learn its lesson" and reaffirmed that editorial quality is its "lifeline".

12月2日，上海古籍出版社在这位博主的视频评论区回应称：“尊敬的读者您好，我们已关注到您对我社国学典藏版《西厢记》前言诸疑误的批评。这些问题将反馈给编辑部门，予以核实，并对该书作进一步检查。感谢您对我社的关注，您的指正将会帮助我们进步。”
上海古籍出版社在“一五老师”的视频评论区回应
“一五老师”对此在视频评论区进行了回复，并表示，他个人对出版社的回复并不满意：“看来您还没意识翻这本书的质量问题的严重性。我这个视频只说了前言是因为全书错误实在太多了，一个视频根本说不完。我粗读一遍就找出了300多处，正文问题比前言更多。”
“一五老师”称，除了《西厢记》这本书的前言部分，在序言当中，短短300多字，竟然出现了12处错误，有些还是严重的、致命的错误。

12月5日，“一五老师”在继续纠错《西厢记》的同时，又指出了另一本出版物存在编校错误，“‘语文课推荐阅读丛书’之《世说新语》，短短两本100多页的小册子，至少有30多处错误！”
12月6日，中华书局回应并向各经销商发布了下架通知。

“一五老师”的连续纠错行为引发网友热议，有不少网友表示支持，认为出版图书有如此多的错误实在不应该，有损出版社的信誉，为博主较真的态度点赞，也为当前出版社编校质量下降感到担忧。
The blogger's actions have sparked online debate. Many netizens support his meticulous approach, arguing that such a high error rate in published books is unacceptable and damages publisher's credibility. They express concern over declining editorial standards.
也有网友认为当代学者与古代学人的知识范围存在不对称，古籍整理难度大，不能对编辑过于苛责，一味指责难以推动问题实质性解决。
一名图书编辑行业从业者表示，现在出版社对突出质量把控其实还是很严格的，对图书质量不满向出版社投诉、反馈，提出修改意见，出版社都是欢迎的，读者纠错促进图书行业提升质量是好事，但编辑的错误是永远无法彻底地消除的，其个人担心可能会出现部分心怀不轨者专门挑起事端获取流量，放大了编校差错问题和读者对于图书质量的焦虑。
Others, however, urge understanding, noting the significant challenge of annotating ancient texts for modern readers and the difficulty in completely eliminating errors. Some within the publishing industry worry that while reader feedback is valuable for improving quality, excessive focus on minor flaws could be exploited for sensationalism and unnecessarily heighten public anxiety about book quality.
