In response to the debate, Nanshan district's education bureau explained that the Chinese exam incorporates local elements such as the APEC meeting, aiming to test students' ability to apply language skills in real-world scenarios.

This approach aligns with curriculum standards that emphasize "learning themes as the guide, tasks as the carrier, and the integration of content, context, methods, and resources." The exam is designed to be exploratory, open-ended, and comprehensive.

中青评论认为,作为改革的先行者,深圳市等地在具体的命题操作上可能无法“一步到位”,难免存在一定的调整优化空间。比如,无论怎样创新,试卷都应科学优化内容结构、题型结构和难度结构,符合不同阶段的学生的身心发展规律和认知水平。

China Youth Daily noted that as pioneers in educational reform, Shenzhen and other cities may not achieve "perfection in one step" in exam design, and there remains room for refinement.
