全体教职工齐聚校园，参加2025-2026学年第二学期全体教职工大会，共同回顾过去一年的奋斗成果，畅谈新一年的展望。
On February 27th, as the Lunar New Year holiday drew to a close, MIC (Majestic International College) ushered in the promising start of the new semester. All faculty and staff gathered on campus for the second semester's opening meeting of the 2025-2026 academic year, reflecting on past achievements and discussing aspirations for the year ahead.

Following the meeting, a vibrant and joyous traditional Lion Dance performance at the school gate marked the beginning of the semester with energy and excitement.

Reflecting on a Year of Steady Progress
大会伊始，美伦国际高中校长冯晓生先生发表讲话。他全面总结了过去一年学校在教育教学、课程建设、学生发展等方面取得的稳步进展，随着学校规模的发展，BC学部开设超10门AP课程，UK学部全面实施GPA评价体系，课外拓展课程更加丰富，40多个学生社团获得校内外荣誉，学生领导力获得了显著发展，心智关怀体系日趋完善。2025届毕业生98.8%获得世界Top100大学录取，2026届毕业生截止目前已超过95%收获世界Top100 offer。冯校长还提到学校荣获“2026年度最具竞争力国际学校全国Top16”称号，社会声誉不断提升。
The meeting commenced with a speech by Mr. Simon Feng, Principal of MIC. He comprehensively reviewed the steady progress the school has made over the past year in areas such as teaching, curriculum development, and student development. As the school has grown, the BC program now offers over 10 AP courses, the UK program has fully implemented the GPA evaluation system, and extracurricular enrichment courses have become more diverse. More than 40 student clubs have won honors both on and off campus, student leadership has significantly developed, and the pastoral care system is increasingly improving. 98.8% of the Class of 2025 graduates received offers from the world's top 100 universities, and to date, over 95% of the Class of 2026 graduates have received offers from the world's top 100 universities. Principal Feng also mentioned that the school was honored with the title of "Top 16 Most Competitive International School in China for 2026," reflecting its continuously growing social reputation.

Looking Ahead: Prioritizing Quality and Results
在展望新一年发展规划时，冯校长提出以“品质和结果”为核心目标，CIS和WASC的国际认证将进一步促成建设一所链接世界、面向未来的国际高中。
接下来的一年继续优化教育教学评估体系、加强教研与培训、完善激励与考核机制，力求在拔尖人才培养等方面实现更多突破。他强调，每一位美伦教育者都应成为学生成长的支持者、团队的贡献者、时代的同行者。
Looking ahead to the development plan for the new year, Principal Feng proposed "quality and results" as the core objectives. The international accreditations from CIS and WASC will further facilitate the building of an international high school that connects with the world and is oriented towards the future. In the coming year, we will continue to optimize the education and teaching evaluation system, strengthen teaching research and training, and improve the incentive and assessment mechanisms, striving to achieve more breakthroughs in areas such as nurturing top-tier talent. He emphasized that every educator at MIC should be a supporter of student growth, a contributor to the team, and a fellow traveler of the times.

The Art and Science of Education
随后，UK学部学术副校长Daniel Downer以“The Art of Service and the Science of Learning”为主题，分享了新学期教育教学的双重视角。
他提出，要以“高端服务提供者”的心态关注学生的学习体验，同时以“认知科学家”的方法提升教学实效。他结合神经可塑性、认知负荷理论和记忆 retention 等科学原理，鼓励老师们通过差异化教学和间隔性复习，帮助学生在高挑战中获得高支持。
Following Principal Feng, Mr. Daniel Downer, Deputy Head (Academic) of the UK Stream, shared insights on teaching and learning for the new semester under the theme "The Art of Service and the Science of Learning." He proposed focusing on the student learning experience with the mindset of a "premium service provider," while simultaneously enhancing teaching effectiveness using the methods of a "cognitive scientist." Drawing on principles like neuroplasticity, cognitive load theory, and memory retention, he encouraged teachers to help students achieve high support within challenging contexts through differentiated instruction and spaced practice.
BC学部校长Dr. James McLaughlin则以“Engineering Student Success”为题，深入阐述了如何通过“积极鼓励”和“容错机制”打造支持型学习环境。
他强调，学生的成功不仅体现在学术成长，更体现在自我认知、抗挫能力和心理健康。他引用传奇教练John Wooden的名言，鼓励老师们成为课堂环境的“建筑师”，帮助学生在安全中尝试、在尝试中成长。
Dr. James McLaughlin, Principal of the BC Stream, then elaborated on "Engineering Student Success." He discussed building a supportive learning environment through "positive encouragement" and "mechanisms for embracing mistakes." He emphasized that student success encompasses not only academic growth but also self-awareness, resilience, and mental well-being. Quoting legendary coach John Wooden, he encouraged teachers to act as "architects" of the classroom environment, helping students feel safe to experiment and grow through trying.

Lion Dance Ushers in Auspicious Start
大会结束后，全体教职工移步至学校正门，共同见证了一场精彩纷呈的开工醒狮表演。
伴随着激昂的锣鼓声，两只雄狮腾跃起舞，时而威武雄壮，时而灵动活泼，赢得现场阵阵掌声。醒狮们还走近人群，与老师们亲密互动，寓意“瑞狮纳福、好运连连”。
随后，校领导为醒狮“点睛”，象征着唤醒生机、注入活力，寓意美伦国际高中在新的一年里蒸蒸日上、再创辉煌。
After the meeting, all faculty and staff gathered at the school's main gate to witness a spectacular Lion Dance performance to commence the work term. Accompanied by vigorous drumbeats and cymbals, two majestic lions leaped and danced, alternating between powerful, awe-inspiring moves and playful, lively interactions, drawing rounds of applause. The lions approached the crowd, engaging playfully with the teachers, symbolizing the arrival of good fortune and blessings. Subsequently, school leaders performed the "dotting of the eyes" ceremony on the lions, an act believed to awaken vitality and inject energy, symbolizing MIC's continued growth and success in the new year.
