扬基游击手Anthony Volpe的复出倒计时已经启动。球队总经理Brian Cashman确认，这位24岁球员将在周二开启小联盟康复赛，预计完成55次打击后重返大联盟阵容。

Volpe的回归意味着有人必须离开。Sports Illustrated的Jovan Alford把矛头指向了外野手Randal Grichuk——这位生涯轰出212发全垒打的老将，加盟扬基后前12次打击颗粒无收。

「Granted, it's still early in the season, so there's a chance that Grichuk could find the fountain of youth and get on track,」Alford写道，「But the fact that he's not hitting anything off lefties, which is his strong suit, is not a good sign.」

讽刺的是，Grichuk正是以打击左投见长（生涯对左投OPS .815），扬基签他也是看中这点。但开季至今他连老本行都丢了，而 Triple-A 的Jasson Domínguez正打出.341打击率外加7次盗垒——球迷已经在问：为什么留着Grichuk而不是他？

Cashman的算盘很现实：Ryan McMahon和Jose Caballero动不了，J.C. Escarra和Ben Rice的替代方案更不可能。34岁的Grichuk拿着小联盟合约来投石问路，现在石头沉了，路也没了。
