警方表示，今天早上6点30分刚过，一名男子遭受“严重枪伤”，警方目前正在对此展开调查。

该男子被发现时伤势严重，随后被送往医院救治。

此前，由于警方出警处理事件，奥克兰Mt Wellington Highway一度预计出现交通延误。事发住宅车道入口处可见持枪警员驻守。

警方发言人表示，事件发生地点位于Mt Wellington Highway，介于Te Horeta Rd与Rowlands Ave之间。

奥克兰市刑事调查局（CIB）高级警长Rebecca Kirk表示，公众可以预期该地区将出现更多警力部署。

“目前道路仍然开放，但建议驾驶者改走其他路线，或预留更多通行时间。”

一名目击者称，她听到了警笛声，并看到一架警方直升机在附近盘旋。一名身穿白色防护服的专业人员也被看到在住宅外围进行调查。
