德园包子是湖南长沙地区的传统小吃之一。选料精细，糖馅香甜爽口，肉馅则选用猪前夹缝肉或好瘦肉，拌以香菇、笋干、葱姜、冻油等调料，油而不腻。德园的掌案师傅历来都是技术高超的老师傅，老面发酵，绝不添加使用泡打粉，所制包点皮薄馅大、面香浓郁、颜色白净、质地松软、面呈海绵状富有回弹性，口感特有嚼劲。德园以外形4个小孔的四眼大包为代表独具特色，德园包点中的银丝卷亦是湘点中的代表之作。
