导师简介
Prof. Sam H.-Y. HSU is an Associate Professor in the School of Energy and Environment, City University of Hong Kong. He obtained his PhD degree under supervision of Prof. Kirk S. SCHANZE at University of Florida with focusing on photophysical behaviors of functional metallopolymer materials for solar energy and optoelectronic applications. After that, he received the two-year postdoctoral and research associate’s appointments respectively with Prof. Allen J. BARD and Prof. Edward T. YU in Center for Electrochemistry as well as Department of Electrical and Computer Engineering at University of Texas at Austin. During the period of his postdoc and research associate, he completed many outstanding multidisciplinary projects. The area of his expertise stretches from material design to new related disciplines involving material characterization, molecular photophysics, operando spectroscopy, and diverse applications, such as solar fuels, organic and inorganic photovoltaic cells, wastewater treatment and food waste management.

Prof. Sam HSU致力于太阳能燃料、电致化学发光以及太阳能电池等能源领域的探索，研究方向包括：太阳能电池，发光二极管，太阳能燃料，废水处理，餐余废物处理，光催化，光电催化，光物理以及光化学，电化学以及光电化学，半导体材料的设计、合成、表征以及应用。Prof. Sam HSU曾在Nature、Nature Materials、Nature Synthesis、Nature Communications、Advanced Materials, Journal of the American Chemical Society、Advanced Functional Materials, Advanced Energy Materials、Chem等高水平期刊上发表过多篇文章。
Prof. Sam HSU’s research interests involve material design, synthesis, processing, imaging, spectroscopy as well as energy and environmental applications, aiming to explore fundamental properties and dynamic interactions of organic and inorganic materials for developing efficient energy-conversion and energy-saving processes. He has keen interests in photo-induced charge transfer processes, interfacial electron transfer, electrochemical hydrogen generation, and photoredox reactions for electricity generation, solar fuel production, electrochemiluminescence (ECL), wastewater treatment as well as food waste management. The investigations between material phenomena and device performance rely heavily on experimental and theoretical concepts of energy and environmental engineering, consisting of photophysics, electrochemistry, photoelectrochemistry, operando spectroscopy by utilizing scanning photoelectrochemical microscopy (SECM) imaging, ultrafast transient absorption (TA), time-resolved photoluminescence spectra (TRPL), in-situ Raman spectroscopy, X-ray absorption fine structure (XAFS) and so forth.

科研助理（RA）
一、岗位待遇
1、本实验室将为研究助理提供最具竞争力的薪资待遇；
2、表现优秀的科研助理有机会到香港城市大学攻读博士学位。
二、工作地点
研究助理将在Prof. Sam的指导下，选择在香港城市大学或者在深圳的合作课题组进行研究工作。工作期间，需要到香港与老师交流的相关费用，会由老师方面负责。
三、招聘条件
1、具有有机或无机化学合成经验者优先；
2、能够独立设计与执行相关实验；
3、获得与材料、化学、电化学、光电化学、催化、太阳能电池、发光二极管等相关硕士或博士学位；
4、有SCI论文发表者优先考虑；
5、工作勤奋踏实，动手能力强，对研究工作富有热情。
2027年春/秋季入学
博士研究生（PhD）
一、奖学金待遇：
香港城市大学2026年博士研究生奖学金为每月19,100 HKD（通过博士资格考前）和19,600 HKD（通过博士资格考后），根据经验，每年都会有提高。每月除去自付约3,708 HKD学费，宿舍费约4,000 HKD，还有相当可观的剩余。同时优秀的申请人还可以申请香港政府博士奖学金计划（Hong Kong PhD Fellowship Scheme），成功者可以获得每月28,400 HKD以及免除学费的待遇，年度额外差旅补贴14,200港币用于国际会议、学术交流。
二、申请条件：
1、GPA成绩在3.5以上；
2、雅思6.5分以上或托福79分以上；
3、材料科学，化学，物理，环境等相关专业
4、有sci论文发表者优先考虑；
5、工作勤奋踏实，动手能力强，对研究工作富有热情。
