7月1日，有网友发帖称，北京观复博物馆收藏的一尊佛像与此前海南海口五公祠被盗的一尊宋代佛像高度相似。消息发布后，引发网友热议。

A bronze Buddhist statue displayed at Guanfu Museum in Beijing has drawn public attention after online users suggested it closely resembles a nationally registered cultural relic stolen from the Temple of the Five Lords in South China's Hainan province more than two decades ago.

7月2日晚，观复博物馆就此事通报称，2005年，观复博物馆厦门馆开馆之际，该馆在厦门市合法古玩市场征集文物展品，购得一件古代铜罗汉像，随后在北京的观复博物馆展出二十年之久。期间没有接到过任何来自官方或私人关于这件展品的信息。

In a statement released on Thursday, Guanfu Museum said it purchased the bronze statue from a legally operated antiques market in Xiamen, Fujian province, in 2005 and has displayed it in Beijing for nearly 20 years, adding that it had never before received any inquiries or claims regarding the artifact.

7月1日下午，该馆查看网络信息时获悉：铸铜普庵祖师坐像于2000年在海口五公祠失窃，系国家重要文物，与该馆这尊罗汉造像近似。观复博物馆看到信息后极为重视，第一时间核查并向上级主管部门（国家文物局、北京市文物局）如实上报，申请由上级主管部门主持勘验鉴定，依规厘清事实，指导后续工作。

观复博物馆表示，该馆始终坚定履行文物保护的社会责任，此事将服从主管部门的鉴定结果和工作指导，严格依照法律法规全力配合，切实维护文物保护法规与社会公共利益。

After learning of the online reports, the museum said it immediately reported the matter to the National Cultural Heritage Administration and the Beijing Municipal Cultural Heritage Bureau, requesting an official examination to determine the facts. It said it would fully cooperate with the authorities and abide by the outcome of the investigation.

海口五公祠管理处工作人员7月2日晚回应记者称，目前该管理处已关注到网传的被盗佛像的新信息，并已向相关部门做了汇报。

A staff member at the Temple of the Five Lords said the temple has taken note of the newly surfaced information and has reported it to the relevant authorities.

据中国被盗（丢失）文物信息发布平台信息显示，网友提到的海口五公祠被盗佛像铸造于宋末元初，高1.3米，重约100公斤，于2000年4月30日被盗，立案单位为海口市公安局刑事侦查支队。中国被盗（丢失）文物信息发布平台发布的被盗佛像照片，与观复博物馆展出的佛像在诸多细节上存在共同点。

According to an official database of stolen and missing cultural relics, the missing bronze statue, dating back to the late Song Dynasty (960-1279) or early Yuan Dynasty (1271-1368), was stolen on April 30, 2000.
