《牛来》成了互联网上数百年难得一遇的「奇观」。几天前，它还是今年票房表现最差的电影，收入仅有 7000 多元。网友们发现这部「沧海遗珠」，但不是因为它制作精良，恰恰相反，是因为它的粗糙到了一种超乎大众想象的程度。在我印象中，B 站的萌新 up 似乎也没有上传这么离谱的动作制作。

猎奇、不信邪、股民们对「牛」的崇拜……怀揣不同心理的人们让这部被冠以「史上最差动画电影」的制作在一夜之间收获了 600 万票房，预计票房会飙升至 1800w。

去掉前缀、后缀，出现了本尊 polish，本义是「擦亮，磨光」。大家如果穿皮鞋，有时需要 polish your shoes「擦亮鞋子」，因为皮鞋沾灰后显得灰扑扑的。如果我们是想让一篇文章焕发光彩，照旧用 polish，只是含义变了，表示「润色」。

于是 unpolished 既可以表示「未经打磨的」，例如 unpolished wood「未抛光的木材」；还可以表示作品等「粗糙的」， an unpolished essay 指的便是还没有润色，「比较粗糙的文章」。

3️⃣ rile

rile 是动词，意思是 to make someone extremely angry「惹恼，激怒」。你是不是想到了近义词 annoy？很好，rile 的语气通常比 annoy 更强一些，但又没有 infuriate 那么猛烈。算是中等程度的发怒，哈哈。来看《经济学人》。

stiff 在这儿是指电影情节「生硬的」，glitchy 表示「出故障的」。大家在很多博主的视频中会看到他们在转场时会加上一个类似于下图的画面，这就是 glitch。那二者合在一起呢？想翻译「粗制滥造」就可以用上它们咯，stiff and glitchy。

如果被不喜欢的人纠缠，那么我们就会故意躲开对方。这就是动词 shun，意思是 to deliberately avoid someone or something「故意躲开，回避」。如 shun publicity 意思是「刻意避开公众关注」。我们可以用它替换 avoid。

不过在翻译句中 shun the appeal of … 时，直接用「刻意避开……的吸引力」，不如译为「抵挡住……的吸引力」。又是《经济学人》。
