我们身处一个追求速度的文化之中，在建筑领域，如同在更广泛的文化领域一样，速度具有强大的说服力。几十年来，寻找更快捷的建造方式一直是工程师和设计师们的共同追求。然而基于速度的建筑创新真正的目标并非创造伟大的建筑，而仅仅是追求最大化的商业利益。当建筑被追求速度所塑造时，其保持个性和多样性的能力则消失殆尽。就像快餐和快时尚一样，快建筑必然缺乏令人满意的体验。或许，我们不应该加速，而应该让建筑慢下来。Dezeen邀请海内外知名的建筑设计工作室分享他们在城市规划和建设中，在面对多元的建筑类型和业主时，如何构建一种更审慎的发展路径？
We inhabit a culture that venerates speed, and in architecture – as in the wider cultural domain – speed wields considerable influence. For decades, engineers and designers have been united in the quest for expedited construction methods. Nevertheless, the underlying objective of innovation driven by speed is not the creation of outstanding architecture, but the maximisation of financial returns. When architecture is moulded by the imperative of speed, its ability to preserve distinctiveness and diversity is eroded. Much like fast food and fast fashion, fast architecture inevitably proves deficient in delivering rewarding experiences. It may be that deceleration, rather than acceleration, is what architecture now requires. Dezeen invites internationally renowned architectural design practices to reflect on how they can cultivate a more circumspect approach to urban planning and construction, in the face of disparate building programmes and client demands.
