孟郊（751—814年），字东野，湖州武康（今浙江德清）人，唐代著名诗人，为中唐苦吟诗人代表，有“诗囚”之称，与贾岛并称“郊寒岛瘦”。
今天我们来欣赏他的一篇佳作：
《寓言》
【唐】孟郊
谁言碧山曲，不废青松直。
谁言浊水泥，不污明月色。
我有松月心，俗骋风霜力。
贞明既如此，摧折安可得。
【校勘】全诗版本稳定，无显著异文。寓言，托物言志，以青松、明月喻君子坚贞之质。
此诗，目前无任何英译版本。笔者有幸首次英译此诗，助力其文化出海。

Who says that emerald hills may wind andswerve
Can bend the pine that stands with unshakennerve?
Who says the muddy waters' murky flow
Can stain the moon-white radiance below?
My heart holds pine and moonlight, pure andbright;
The world may rage with frost and wind andblight.
If truth and light are rooted deep in me,
What force can break such steadfast purity?
本译韵式工整：AABB 双行同韵（couplet，英文古典英雄双行体，最适配古体咏志小诗） hills /still；flow /below；bright /blight；me /me，韵脚整齐、音色沉稳，读来厚重，更贴合孟郊清劲峭硬的诗风。
意象译笔力求凝练典雅，力求忠实原作：`winding path of emeraldhills`碧山曲，emerald 翠碧，比单纯 greenhills 更有色彩质感；winding path 对应山势纡曲，精准。`stands erect and still`：青松直，erect 挺立、still 不移，静态持守，极贴合松的品格。明月色，radiance 是清辉，below 暗含月临大地，意境开阔。`My heart holds pine andmoonlight, pure and bright`：我有松月心，hold心中葆有松与月的品格。`If truth and light are rooted thus in me`：贞明既如此。rooted 贞明是根植于自身的本性，不是外在光芒，精准扣住原诗君子本心。
