新华网9月18日电 据英国《太阳报》报道，两只负责保护英国威廉王子人身安全的军犬在威廉离开皇家空军飞行中队后，被执行了安乐死。
这两只军犬一只为比利时牧羊犬布鲁斯，一只是德国牧羊犬布雷德，它们均隶属于英国皇家空军某部门，职责是保护威廉王子服役期间的人身安全。
由于无法给这两只军犬安排其他任务或是转为家养，英国皇家空军13日决定对它们执行安乐死。
据一名消失人士透露，“布鲁斯和布雷德是专门训练来保护威廉人身安全的。” 该消息人士还称，“它们在军事基地巡逻，保护基地内的人员、装备和设施的安全。但当威廉王子结束服役后，其所在中队解散了。”
据报道，飞行中队曾派人评估这两只军犬是否能被送回英国防御动物中心以帮助训练新军犬，但最终结果显示它们并不适合这一任务。九岁半的布雷德脊椎和臀部患病，七岁半的布鲁斯与其他动物相处也有障碍。
该名消息人士还表示，“遗憾的是这两只军犬无法被普通人家领养，因为他们从小接受的训练就是攻击人，当然除了威廉王子和训练员。”

Prince William guard dogs put down after he left RAF job
TWO military dogs used to protect Prince William at his RAF base were put down days after he left.
Belgian Shepherd Brus and a German Shepherd named Blade were part of a unit which guarded Wills, 31, at RAF Valley in North Wales.
But both were destroyed after he ended his three-year stint as a search and rescue chopper pilot last week.
The dogs were “euthanised” on Friday after chiefs decided they could not be redeployed or re-homed with a family.
A source said: “Brus and Blade were in a two-dog section set up specifically to protect William.
“They patrolled the station to protect military personnel, equipment and facilities. But once the prince left the unit was closed.” Brus and Blade were assessed by a squadron inspector to see if they could be returned to the Defence Animal Centre which helps train new handlers.
But they were deemed unsuitable. Nine-and-a-half-year-old Blade had spine and hip trouble that meant he faced being put down for medical reasons.
Brus, 7 , did not react well to other animals and had behavioural problems which meant he could not be sent to a kennel.
The source said: “Unfortunately these dogs can t be re-homed with a member of the public because they are trained to attack people.
“The handlers are gutted about this. They build up a really close bond with dogs they work with, so it s hard when this happens.”
