“小满”是中国传统二十四节气（the 24 traditional Chinese solar terms）中的第八个节气。这个时期，农作物的颗粒开始变得饱满，但并未完全成熟，因而叫做“小满”。
“小满”的英文是 “Lesser Fullness of Grain”。
因为在这一天，麦类等夏熟作物的籽粒开始灌浆饱满，但还未成熟，只是小满，还未大满，故而得名。
“小满”也可被译为“Grain Buds”，表示谷物灌浆饱满的过程。

The traditional Chinese lunar calendar divides the year into 24 solar terms. Grain Buds, the 8th solar term of a year, begins on May 21 this year, and ends on June 5. 中国传统农历将一年分为24个节气，其中小满是一年中第8个节气。今年的小满从5月21日开始，至6月5日结束。 It means that the seeds from the grain are becoming full but are not ripe. 小满意指谷物开始饱满，但是还未成熟的这段日子。
