Initially, 1,200 people aged 18-39 participated in the marathon,notably higher thanthe figure for those aged over 40(800).Together, these figuresamounted to2,000 participants in 2008. By 2009, the combined figurehad risen slightlyto 2,200.This was primarily driven byan increase inthe younger group, whose participationgrew by150, compared witha rise ofjust 50 in the older group.

By 2012, the gap between the two groupswidened considerably. Participation among 18–39-year-oldsrose significantlyto 1,750,whereasthe figure for the over-40sincreased much more modestly, reaching1,050.As a result, the difference between the two age groups had grown from 400 in 2008 to 700 in 2012. In addition,these increases brought the total number of participants to2,800 by the end of the period.
