To blow a fuse

  • The customer is going to blow a fuse if we don’t deliver it on time.

  • I had a slight accident with the car, but please don’t blow a fuse.

To pull the plug

  • The government has pulled the plug on any future people being able to take advantage of this particular tax loophole.
