崇宁重宝系北宋徽宗崇宁年间铸造(公元1102年~1106年)，货币上有铜、铁、银。崇宁重宝为隶书铜、铁钱，制法甚精，存世较多。另外还有崇宁通宝钱文为徽宗御书瘦金体，铁划银钩，深具骨秀格之气，书法超妙绝伦，堪称楷书楷书。天下称此为“宋代第一泉”，与新莽并称中国钱发“二圣”，崇宁通宝以其多变的版式而著称。崇宁重宝钱文隶书，古朴方正，严谨庄重，法度固定。一些人认为，崇宁重宝钱文也是徽宗所书，但史无定论。重宝别数百种，面背记号多，有花穿、决文、面星、背星月纹等，常见。
