Kanaujia等的研究表明,慢性非特异性腰痛患者疼痛程度与维生素D缺乏之间呈负相关。
Çalık等的研究显示,维生素D缺乏可能导致慢性腰痛患者功能下降。
Xu等的研究表明,维生素D缺乏与绝经后女性椎间盘退变和腰痛发生率相关。

Ghai等的研指出,缺乏维生素D的慢性腰痛的患者补充维生素D有助于疼痛缓解和功能改善。
Krasowska等的研究认为,补充维生素D有助于降低接受PLIF手术的腰痛患者围手术期疼痛。
Schwalfenberg等的研究指出,缺乏维生素D的慢性腰痛患者,将维生素D补充到正常水平可改善生活质量,甚至可使症状完全消失。
