When Leo checked into the small roadside inn, he wasn’t expecting anything special.
He was tired, driving cross-country, and needed just one night of sleep.
The receptionist handed him a key with a worn tag:Room 9.
“Try not to look in the mirror too long,” she added with a strange smile.
Leo chuckled. “Why?”
She didn’t answer.
Room 9 was small but clean. A bed, a lamp, a window facing the parking lot—and a tall, antique mirrorhanging opposite the bed.
Leo unpacked, showered, and lay on the bed with his phone.
Around midnight, he glanced up.
The mirror caught his eye.
It showed the room behind him exactly—same lamp, same bedspread.
But no reflection of himself.
Leo sat up, confused.
Still, the mirror didn’t show him.
He waved his hand. Nothing.
He walked over and tapped the glass. It was solid. Real.
Then, somethingmovedin the reflection.
A figurewalked across the room—but the real room was empty.
Leospun around—nothing.
He looked back.
The figure in the mirror hadstopped.
It was facing him.
It lookedexactly like him.
Same shirt. Same face.
But its expression was wrong.
Its eyes were wide. Its mouth was slightly open, as ifsmiling too much.
Then—
Itraised its handand waved.
Leo didn't move.
But his reflection did.
The mirror version of himturned, walked to the edge of the frame—
Andstepped out of view.
A second later, Leo heard asoft creak.
From behind him.

镜中反射出的房间一模一样——灯、床单、墙壁……
但——没有他的倒影。
利奥坐起身，满脸困惑。
镜子还是不显示他。
他挥了挥手——没有反应。
他走过去，敲了敲镜面。冰冷、坚硬，确实是面镜子。
然后——
镜子里有个身影动了。
一个人，走过房间。
但现实中——房间空无一人。
利奥猛地转头——没人。
再看镜子时，
那个人影已经停住了。
面对着他。
那是他自己。
同样的衣服，同样的脸。
但表情不对劲。
眼睛瞪得大大地，嘴角咧得太开，笑得过头。
然后——
他抬起手，对他挥了挥手。
利奥一动不动。
但镜中的他动了。
镜中的他转身，走向镜子的边缘——
然后，走出了画面。
下一秒，利奥听到——
身后传来轻微的吱呀声。
